22 Step Aside Moo Deng, Pesto Penguin Is Our Newest Obsession

Two weeks ago, the internet fell in love with a Thai baby pygmy hippo named Moo Deng, specifically her hilarious reaction to getting sprayed with water, and her propensity to bite her handlers. But now there's a new animal sensation, and it's a lot bigger.

His name is Pesto Penguin, and despite being less than a year old, he's already the largest penguin at Melbourne Australia's Sea Life Aquarium. Dwarfing both his parents, the king penguin chick has yet to shed his downy feathers, but he sure knows how to enjoy a good meal.

According to a Tweet from Nexta, "In a week he eats 24 kg of fish." But for his hefty weight of 22 kg, that's all normal. "Vet doctors have not found any pathologies - he just likes to eat."

Fans are already traveling from all over the world to see Pesto, and he still has some growing to do. But unless you're ready to book a ticket to south east Australia, you can see all you need with these 22 Pesto fan tweets right here.
